Excellent confederate drum canteen, spout, strap loops, solid tin, good seams. This is the real McCoy. There is a slight rusting on some areas of the sides. You can almost see this one hanging from its canvas strap around some "Johnny" making a long and dusty march. (kb2) $595 |
Here is a piece of history. Not some non-descript canteen...but one carried by a member of the 10th corps. One he carried on campaigns and then carried home. Once home he made it a souvernir. Painted with the 10th Corps insignia on one side and an infantry insignia on the other side. His name appears around the edge of one side and on the other a now illegible unit designation.
