The following bottles are all from the period between 1840 - 1870. They were all recovered from wells and cisterns in the area of the New Orleans' river front. Most if not all came from the many "Cotton Press" warehouses that populated the river front. During the war these warehouses were used to house both Confederate and later Federal troops. |

Excellent civil war "nickle" beer. English made, found throughout war campsite both north and south. These were commonly used by soldiers for their "refreshments" Bottle stand 7 7/8 high, glass in excellent shape. (bs180) $25 |
Large 1840's ink, embossed lable "Stephen Green's Glasslined Inside". It stands 9 1/4 inches high and a diameter of 3 1/2 inches. There is a slight chip on the base.(bs188) $75 |
