US m1858 smooth canteen, complete in all aspects...very slight rust, all loops attached, no holes, it does have many wear dents on both sides, clearly from extensive use. It has a cork stopper and change. THese appear to be added, however it does not detract from the canteen and may very well be war added. Excellent epresentative from the war.(kb314) $210 |
Here is a piece of history. Not some non-descript canteen...but one carried by a member of the 10th corps. One he carried on campaigns and then carried home. Once home he made it a souvernir. Painted with the 10th Corps insignia on one side and an infantry insignia on the other side. His name appears around the edge of one side and on the other a now illegible unit designation.
